#1 Coffee Can Lower Your Risk Of Cancer
Most of us either crave or can’t survive without a caffeine hit come Monday morning, but new research suggests coffee is doing more than making us bearable to be around.

As explained in a report by CBS News, apparently the more coffee you drink (both regular or decaf), the lower your risk of colorectal cancer appears to be. Researchers compared data on more than 5,100 people diagnosed with colorectal cancer in Israel with data on 4,000 other people with no history of colon cancer and found that drinking 1 or 2 cups of coffee every day was associated with a 26% lower risk of developing the disease. What’s more? Drinking 2.5 cups or more per day was linked to a 50% reduced risk. That’s a big dose of the brown stuff.

According to the study’s senior researcher Dr. Gad Rennert, the protective power of coffee likely comes from “antioxidant ingredients”, and not necessarily caffeine (that’s just a bonus).

You’re doing your heart a huge favour: According to the National Institute of Health, several clinical trials have been run which show that pet owners have lower blood pressure rates and lower cholesterol levels, both of which are major risk factors for heart attacks.

You’ll reduce your depression risk: Several studies have uncovered a link between pet ownership and reduced levels of depression. Pets fill your life with a sense of love and purpose, they increase your socialisation and help you make new friends, but they also fullfill the human need to be touched.
