A Jersey City man’s apartment door was kicked in and cash and credit cards were stolen Thursday night, he told city police.
The 27-year-old Academy Street resident had an argument with an ex-girlfriend at his home and left his apartment to cool down, a police report said. When he returned at 10 p.m. he found that his apartment door was ajar and damaged, the police report said.
After checking inside, he noticed that $100 in cash and multiple banks cards were missing, and his ex-girlfriend was gone, police said.
The man told police he reviewed surveillance camera footage provided by the management office of the building and he saw his ex-girlfriend damaging the door.
As the investigation continued, the victim became less cooperative, police said, and he told police he did not want to press charges.
