RTE are struggling to find Cork people, especially men, to appear on their hit dating show ‘Pulling with my Parents’ and producers are now calling for Leeside singletons to come forward.
The popular dating show is back for a second series of antics which will see young singles from all over Ireland hand over their dating lives to their meddling parents.
If you are sick of swiping, ghosting and disastrous dates then why not give something new a try and hand over the reigns to your parents? What could possibly go wrong?
On last year’s show, we saw parents overhaul their kids’ Tinder profiles as well as trying to find them a date the old fashioned way.
One thing we did not see last series however was any Cork participants, but producers want that to change and have put out a call for Leeside men and women to pull up their socks and apply!
Shooting for season two will start shortly (while following strict health and safety regulations) and we spoke to series producer Stu Smith who told us that they are particularly on the look out for Cork lads.
“We didn’t have any one from Cork on the show last year but this year we have one girl from Cork who has signed up and we started filming with her before lockdown.
“We are particularly looking for lads, a lot more girls usually apply for these types of shows than lads so if the Cork boys want to step forward!
“It is harder to get guys, I don’t know what it is is, maybe they are less likely to ask for help with their love lives than girls.”
Stu also said that the show isn’t just about overhauling your dating life.
“It is not only a good way of finding a partner but it is also a good way to have some craic with your parents and have some bonding time with them.
“Last year we saw a lot of opening up and people having conversations with their family that they hadn’t had before which was really nice.
“It was a lot less cheesy than we thought it might be, it was very sweet.”
According to Stu, the one Cork lady who has signed up for the show is waiting for her perfect man to do the same!
“One girl has already signed up and I guess she is just waiting for the boys to pull their fingers out and do the same!
“We aren’t just looking for people to apply with their families, we also need a pool of guys for the ladies’ families to choose from.
“We need some male Corkonians to put themselves forward and relieve the plight of the single ladies!”.
