Blind Date: Bec and Aaron both grew up in the country and drink the same beer, could it be the perfect match? | #tinder | #pof

Nurse Bec and F45 coach Aaron enjoyed banter and beers at Northbridge hangout Sauma but was there a spark?

Bec, 27, says:

He was there first. I could see this guy sitting in the back and he looked really nice. The waitress said to me “I don’t think you’re going to be disappointed”.

I was nervous that he was going to be someone I already knew so I was just relieved he didn’t look familiar.

We both rocked up in pretty much the same outfit, in a white shirt and black jeans. He said he bought a new shirt for the date and when I hugged him, some of my foundation must have rubbed off on his white shirt, so I felt really bad about that.

We both grew up in the country and then we talked about his work quite a bit. We’ve both done a bit of travelling and his background is Croatian, and I love Croatia.

He had good banter and was really easy to talk to. I like guys that are beefy so, of course, I got matched with a personal trainer. He had blue eyes which I’m usually really into.

I’m not sure if he’s the kind of guy I would have picked myself but that’s why I wanted to do this. I didn’t want it to be someone that I had picked off Tinder just because of looks.

It sounds terrible but I go on a lot of first dates and nothing’s been wrong with the date, they’ve been good. But I don’t seem to go on a lot of second dates. I don’t give anyone enough of a chance. I’m looking for that initial connection. I’m not saying it wasn’t there because we did have a really nice time, but it has to be something that stands out.

He gave me a kiss before we left. It took me by surprise. It was actually a really pleasant kiss.

We’ve been messaging since the date but I’m not sure about a second date yet.

Verdict: 8/10

Aaron, 28, says:

I got there early. I was nervous and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but it was a good night.

To be honest I was more nervous about the photo shoot.

I haven’t really dated much but she rocked up so that was good.

Bec was lovely. We didn’t struggle for a conversation, there was no awkwardness and I really enjoyed it.

The restaurant was nice, I’ve never been there before. I did say to her “I’m new to this” and didn’t know what to order and she was nice about it and didn’t know what to order either, so the waiter picked for us. We had a few shared things and dessert.

I wasn’t sure if she drank or not and I didn’t know if I should order a drink. Then she ordered a beer so I said “yep make that two”, so that was easy.

We talked about her dog Charlie so that was good because I’m a dog person too.

I really like my sports and I like footy. She doesn’t really like footy but she goes for the Eagles, which is my team, and I watch pretty much all the games. She said she doesn’t hate it and can watch it so that was good. We both like going to Varsity too.

She was a good listener and we got along really well. Her banter was good.

She was keen to have a few more drinks. If I didn’t have to wake up for work at 4.30 the next morning I would have.

She’s someone I’d really look into if she was on a dating app. She looked amazing, she was cute. Her personality was great.

I’d like to see her again, definitely in a different environment next time.

We added each other on Instagram and I messaged her when I got home. She said that she found me on TikTok and had a little laugh. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. I do a few silly things on there. I dress up in a wig.

I’m so glad I gave it a crack and got thrown in the deep end.

Verdict: 8.5/10
