The state of the world has a lot of people down. So down, the most popular dating apps are suffering a collective problem: people are just taking a break from dating.
Bumble ($BUMBLE), Match ($NASDAQ:MTCH), Tinder ($TINDER), and Hinge ($HINGE) are all seeing the same dip in our Facebook ‘Talking About’ Count data because fewer people are meeting in person.
Here are the numbers laid out: since the start of 2020, Match saw a 75% drop in people talking about the app, Tinder 48%, Bumble 61%, and Hinge 67%.

Are they voting in primaries? Working on a project? Staying home due to the coronavirus? Or just not in the mood for love? There’s no way to know exactly why these numbers are down across the board, the only thing to do now is just waiting to see if they go back up when summer hits and we can all show off our beach bods.
About the Data:
Thinknum tracks companies using the information they post online – jobs, social and web traffic, product sales and app ratings – and creates data sets that measure factors like hiring, revenue and foot traffic. Data sets may not be fully comprehensive (they only account for what is available on the web), but they can be used to gauge performance factors like staffing and sales.
