An EastEnders star has reportedly been quietly axed from the hit soap after making bad personal decisions.
The soap is one of BBC’s most popular shows and has made many actors household names.
However, the dream may be over for Dean Gaffney as he allegedly is getting his life back on track after a break-up.
Dean, 41, has portrayed Robbie Jackson in the soap since 1993, making him one of the longest-standing characters.
Reports say he has been axed from EastEnders due to his behaviour off-screen.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday that the actor ‘knows he’s made some bad decisions and he is working hard to get his life back on track’.
Dean split from long-term girlfriend Rebekah Rose-Ward earlier this year, with reports saying she dumped him.
The source continued: ‘Then he lost his job. But he knows he only has himself to blame.
‘He’s always been a popular member of the cast and everyone loves Robbie Jackson so it’s a real shame that he will no longer be on our screens.
‘After everything that’s happened Dean realised that he had to completely change his lifestyle.
‘He’s had a massive wake-up call and wants to get his life back on track.
‘Bosses have left the door open for his character, so there’s always a chance that one day he might be able to go back.’
An EastEnders spokesperson said: ‘We never discuss artists’ contracts.’
Meanwhile Dean is back on the dating scene after his break-up with Rebekah.
The father-of-two is believed to be using dating app Bumble as he looks for love.
