While other celebrities lamented over the postponement of the annual Met Gala on Monday evening, Gabrielle Union shared an unseen snap of herself hours before the annual fundraising gala in 2014.
Unlike the other 600 attendees, who are typically getting dolled up or undergoing last minute alterations, the 47-year-old Bring It On star revealed she hit the famed Kleinfeld Bridal boutique in New York City.
‘Wedding dress shopping hours before the #MetBall2014,’ she captioned a Timehop of herself with her one-year-old son Kaavia’s godmother Deirdre Maloney on an Instagram Story.

Union, who married NBA player Dwyane Wade later that year, beamed in her future full-length classic strapless gown, designed by Dennis Basso.
The beauty, who kept her long raven locks were swept up off her face, raised her hands excitedly, as she accessorized with a sparkly headband and a long veil.
After finding her special dress, she immediately attended the Charles James: Beyond Fashion-themed Met Gala.

Three months later, the She’s All That and her husband, who she first met in 2007 at an NFL Super Bowl Party, tied the knot at the very end of August in 2014.
While they briefly spilt up in 2013, the lovebirds married at a Disney-style castle in Miami, Florida.

The couple’s reception was set up like a ‘1930s era juke joint’, with guests sipping on Vanilla Puddin’ Chardonnay.
While Gabrielle initially had a firm idea of exactly what she wanted from the very beginning, her designer Dennis Basso, changed everything.
‘Like most brides to be, Gabrielle came in with her stylist Jason Bolden with a clear vision. But everything changed when she tried on gowns!’ Basso told People. ‘She came in wanting sexy, and to accentuate her amazing figure, but that evolved.’
He added: ‘She talked about Dwayne being so fashionable and really wanting to parallel that with her gown.’

The couple enjoyed a fantastic wedding day, after being engaged for almost a year, and solidify their previously rocky romance, which was on and off since they got together in 2009.
Dwyane conceived a son with his long-time friend Aja Metoyer in early 2013 during a brief split from Gabrielle.
This was the third child for the basketball player, who also has two sons from his first marriage to his high-school girlfriend Siohvaughn Funches, who he married in 2002.
He filed for divorce five years later, which was only finalized in 2010.
