Normal People is the show that has captured the attention of everyone across the UK.
And, one thing – or, should we say, person – has made the BBC Three series particularly addictive; hunky Connell who is played by Paul Mescal.
Ever since the series was released, it has been the dream of many to have a romance like Connell and Marianne – or even better, date the gorgeous man who plays the Irish male lead.
Well, you’ll be very excited to learn that your fantasy could well come true as 24 year old actor Paul has revealed he will be on the lookout for love once lockdown is over.

Speaking on a podcast called I’m Grand Mam, Paul, who recently gushed over Daisy Edgar-Jones who plays Marianne, said: “I’m really looking forward to dating.
“I’m trying not to think of it being weird because I think, we’ve been in lockdown for f**king months and I’ve has no opportunity to meet somebody new or being remotely intimate with anybody.”
Paul, who was recently revealed to have once starred in a sausage advert, added: “I’m at the point now where I want to get married and settle down, you know that hysterical thing?
“If lockdown ever happens again I’m making sure that I’m married. But yeah, I am looking forward to dating.”
Paul, who now lives in London, revealed he had been using dating app Hinge just the week before Normal People was released, but later quit the app because he “didn’t like it”.
But, if you do happen to land a date with heartthrob Paul – perhaps on Bumble – don’t expect to be swept off your feet like Marianne, as Paul said he’s nothing like his character Connell.
“I’m not Connell, I’m totally different to him,” he admitted.
“Maybe what’s sexy about Connell is he’s that kind of classic back footed, aloof, smart… I’m definitely not back footed or aloof.
“It was kind of fun at the start, I was like: ‘Oh, this is mad, people think that Connell’s sexy.’
“A weird thing has crept in where people DM and there’s a feeling that maybe there’s an anticipation that I’m him.
“This is for the record: if anyone ever dates me, I am not Connell and nor do I want to be him.” Damn, at least we can dream!
