Sharon Stone has revealed the steps she was prepared to take to secure the lead role in the 1992 film “Basic Instinct.” As an emerging actress at the time, Stone did not have the credentials to boost her chances of being cast alongside Michael Douglas in the erotic thriller, so she devised a plan to attract the attention of the film producers.

“I decided I was going to do a Playboy article specifically because I wanted to get this film ‘Basic Instinct,'” she said during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” on Wednesday, according to Fox News.

“I did think it was the right part for me, and I knew what I had to do to get it,” Stone added. “I didn’t have enough perspective to realize what was going to happen.”

Stone shot to fame following her appearance in “Basic Instinct.” What followed was a successful acting career that included roles in several films including “Casino,” “Silver,” and “Catwoman.” Stone also starred in the sequel “Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction.”

Despite her sexbomb status, Stone has grown increasingly frustrated with being a single mom of three. The actress has been linked to several men in the past, including model Martin Mica and actor David DeLuise, and previously admitted to People that she always envisioned her life having a partner in it.

Last year she revealed that she was on the dating app Bumble, and that her account had been blocked.

“I went on the @bumble dating sight and they closed my account,” she said in a post to Instagram. “Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me! Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary? Don’t shut me out of the hive.”

Now Stone says she is “done” with her quest to find love.

“I’ve had it with dating,” she said on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

In her interview with People, Stone made a similar statement.

“I think somewhere in the back of your mind you think maybe one day you won’t be a single parent,” she said. “Then, eventually you realize, I think it’s better. I’m no longer hoping for someone.”
