When we visit a bar, we all want a warm welcome from the publican or bartender.
And at Plymouth’s newest bar – The Bumble & Bee – a welcoming and entertaining atmosphere is par for the course.
Set up by Bethany Rogers and Leona Yabsley, “The Bumble & Bee” is a real show-stopper because of its quirky rustic feel, its warm welcome – and the fact it’s been made out of an old horse-box!
Entrepreneurs Bethany and Leona have transformed the old horse-box into a beautiful mobile bar serving a range of drinks, including cocktails guaranteed to quench your thirst.
The pair pride themselves in The Bumble & Bee’s “unique character” and their high-level customer-service, and will always go above and beyond what’s expected of them to provide guests with an “unforgettable and completely seamless” bar experience.
The Bumble & Bee began as a small bar in Bethany and Leona’s back-garden in Plymstock.
The pair both love entertaining and socialising, and have a great-knowledge of popular drinks – particularly those that involve gin.
When lockdown restrictions permitted, the women loved hosting friends and family in their garden for socially-distant drinks – but soon realised they wanted to build their bar into a business.
Their horse-box has been “restored to its former glory,” they say, with wood from stables used throughout the bar, as well as recycled and local materials that give it a boho and rustic feel.
One of the things that makes The Bumble and Bee stand out from other bars is their extensive drinks menu.
“We can customise cocktails to suit preference and we are happy to offer whatever the customer wants,” Beth told Plymouth Live.
The Bumble and Bee officially launched in mid-August and the couple are excited to bring their beautiful mobile bar to the people of Plymouth.
The Bumble & Bee horse-box bar is perfect for weddings, birthdays, special occasions, parties and corporate events.
Guests can also take-advantage of garden games, a customised cocktail menu and polaroid pictures, if party-organisers wish.
