A brave couple who took the plunge by moving in together to do the lockdown together after one date say their relationship has worked thanks to a ‘daily audit’.

Marketer Francesca Elizabeth Williams, 33, and 31-year-old teacher Jack McGarey, from Crowthorne, Berkshire, have sparked a debate online after they revealed their strict lockdown habit which includes them exercising together thrice daily.

The couple first met on dating app Bumble and went on a socially distanced walk before Jack invited Francesca for dinner at his home, and moved the furniture two metres apart.

Francesca told the Guardian : “Obviously, the night started with social distancing but as the night wore on and we had a few glasses of wine, we didn’t keep our distance.”

Two days later on March 23, the lockdown began and the deputy chief medical officer, Jenny Harries, suggested that couples living apart may want to consider moving in together.

So Jack took the plunge and invited Francesca to move in telling her to ‘grab her gym kit and laptop’.

He said: “I suppose, at the back of my head, I thought: ‘If it doesn’t work out, she can just go home.’”

Almost three months into their whirlwind relationship their daily audit also ensures together they meditate, listen to a podcast, cook and have a ‘deep chat’ about their families or childhoods.

Twitter users commented on the couple’s ‘very Type-A relationship’ after an extract of the article was uploaded on social media.

Twitter users have compared the couple to Monica Geller-Bing in Friends

Journalist Eimear McGovern posted a screenshot of the article saying ‘thank god my relationship isn’t like this’ with others echoing her comments.

One replied: “I’m obsessed with their audit at the end of the day”.

While another quipped: “Jesus Christ that’s exhausting.”

A third person joked: “He told her to “Grab your gym kit and your laptop, and come over. Gym kit? It’s a global pandemic lockdown. The only thing I’m grabbing is jaffa cakes’ said one.”

Earlier this week the government introduced new lockdown measures in England that prevent people from socialising (or gathering) with one person from outside of their household in a private space.

Up until now the person visiting a house for sex would have been the one in breach of the measures.

But now both people would technically be able to be prosecuted under the law..
