A dating app for men with small penises has attracted thousands of members since it was first launched a year ago.
The site, called Dinky One, was started by David Minns as the pandemic hit last March and has proved to be a hit.
It now has had 118,911 people sign up for it from across the world.
The 47-year-old has previously produced dating sites for gamers, bald men (and women), transgender people and those who are attracted to “extreme age gaps” in their relationships, reports North Wales Live.
The app is aimed at men and women who possess, or who are attracted to, those who are less well endowed.
The dad-of-two began building his online dating empire after a career that saw him working in Formula 1, and the aeronautical and shipping industries.
He designed software that simulated the wind tunnels that are used to test prototype designs.
Despite being happily married, the former mechanical engineer made 2.5 million keyboard impressions in developing an online platform that now hosts no fewer than 17 dating sites.
Several of them are aimed at people who suffer ‘body insecurity’ and who may be reluctant to front up to potential partners.
Mr Minns said: “It can be a potential issue several weeks or months down the line when partners may feel they have been duped.
“By creating a niche site for like-minded people, everyone knows where they stand and there is much less anxiety involved.
“I created the Bald Dating site after hearing about the rise of ‘hatfishing’ – an increasing number of men were trying to conceal their hair loss by wearing hats or hoods on dating apps.”
Mr Minns was quick to realise the potential of niche sites.
Along with those dealing with body dysmorphia, his line-up also caters for the gay community and fetish enthusiasts.
“The market is dominated by Tinder and Facebook dating,” he said.
“However these cover pretty much all the singles on the planet, so finding the right partner on these is almost impossible.”
The Dinky One has been his runaway success, clocking up 1.5 million logins in its first year.
It also registered 3.3 million messages, including the likes of ‘Rate my dinky’ and ‘I’m proud of my dinky!’
Although the site has now been translated into eight languages, Mr Minn claims ‘dinky’ has become universally accepted as the new word for a small penis.
He said: “When I first launched it I wasn’t sure if anyone would even join and upload a profile picture.
“But the response has been amazing. The site has had huge coverage in the media, especially in the US.”
So much so that a sister site was launched, called Big One Dating, which caters for the opposite end of the appendage spectrum.
The ‘online dating entrepreneur’ also unveiled a Welsh language Dinky One app – which he believes is the first dating site to do so.
According to Mr Minns, from Chester, a disproportionate number of people signed up to the site were from Wales, and so he decided to create a Welsh language version to run alongside it.
He said: “In the UK, Dinky One is particularly popular in Wales, especially Swansea and Cardiff where populations are larger.
“I’m aware there are dating sites for Welsh singles but I haven’t seen on where the landing platform is in Welsh, so it could well be a first.
“My grandmother was a Welsh speaker from Anglesey and while my mother speaks some Welsh, I had to outsource the translation to make sure it was all correct.”
