Fiz (played by Jennie McAlpine) has been left to pick up the pieces of her life lately after Tyrone (Alan Halsall) decided he didn’t want to be with her anymore and moved in with Alina (Ruxandra Porojnicu) who’s now pregnant. Long-term Coronation Street resident Fiz has had to watch as her ex boyfriend walked out on her and their children and settled into a new life. Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap saw Fiz sharing a “meet cute” with a stranger before he asked her out on a date. But with the interaction being suspiciously close to her bombshell article in the paper, could he be an opportunist after her money?
Fiz was working in the furniture shop on Friday’s episode when a customer had been lingering, unnoticed by her.
The mystery man hid behind a cupboard as Tyrone burst through the doors and he and Fiz had an argument.
Once Tyrone had left, Fiz spotted the customer. “Have you been here this whole time?” She asked.
“Yes,” he replied. “I hope you don’t think I was eavesdropping, but you two were in mid-flow and I didn’t want to get in the firing line.”
“Sorry you had to listen to all that,” an embarrassed Fiz answered, but the customer seemed understanding.
“No probs,” he said. “It’s nice to be a spectator for once.”

“I’ve been on the receiving end of a few accusations myself this past year,” he admitted.
“From my wife. Well, ex-wife,” he clarified. Fiz replied: “Sorry to hear that,” but it was clear the two shared a spark.
The mystery man then told Fiz he’d just moved in nearby, and was needing a wardrobe.
Fiz and Tyrone had been arguing over an article published in their local paper, in which Fiz anonymously gave her account of their relationship break up.
Of course, everyone on the cobbles knows who it’s about despite no names being mentioned, and Alina and Tyrone were left furious.
Later on, the pair bumped into each other again. He seemed a little lost when Fiz asked: “Will it fit?”
He replied: “Sorry?” Fiz explained: “You were going home to check the measurements.”
“I didn’t make it home, because I realised I wanted to ask you something,” he remarked.
“Oh sorry, I’ve got to get back to my girls now,” Fiz replied. “But you can come back tomorrow, I’ll be able to help you then.”
“No,” he said. “No, it wasn’t about the wardrobe. Look, I know you’ve just got out of a relationship – and so have I.
“But I just wondered if you wanted to come for a drink some time?”
Fiz looked flattered, and asked: “A drink?” He responded: “Clearly, you’ve still got issues with your ex, so no pressure.
“But I couldn’t go home to Weatherfield’s worst dry cleaners without giving you my number. So what do you say?”
Fiz’s obvious happiness indicated she probably ended up giving him her number.
Fans are desperate to see Fiz happily moving on from Tyrone, but could her new man in fact be a scammer?
He seemed to be watching her for a while in the shop, and only made his move once it was confirmed by the fight that she was indeed the person behind the article.
He also seemed to come out of nowhere, having apparently moved into the street just recently.
Viewers will no doubt hope he is a genuinely nice man for Fiz, but in Weatherfield, things rarely go smoothly.
Will he cause the heartbroken woman even more upset?
Coronation Street continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
