A couple lured a Tinder date back to a flat and chopped him up into 11 pieces, according to police.
The 32-year-old victim was having sex with the girlfriend when he was attacked by her boyfriend and killed.
Afterwards they emptied his bank account and splashed out on luxury goods, it is claimed.
They targeted him because they thought he was rich – and now face the death penalty if convicted.
Police said the 27-year-old woman, identified by her initials LAS, met the victim, RHW, on the dating app.
They agreed to meet and rented an apartment for five days, arriving on September 9, the day of the murder in Jakarta, Indonesia.
But the 26-year-old boyfriend, identified as DAF, was hiding in a bathroom, the Mirror reports.
Shortly after arriving, the victim and the woman talked for a bit and then began having sex.
But the boyfriend emerged and began to bludgeon the man with a brick, before repeatedly stabbing him until he died.
Police Chief Nana Sudjana said: “(DAF) hit the victim with a brick three times, then he stabbed him seven times until he died.”
Afterwards, the couple didn’t know what to do with his body so they went out and bought a machete and saw.
The suspects began dismembering it inside the flat and cut the man’s body into 11 pieces.
These were then wrapped in plastic bags and stuffed into two backpacks and one suitcase, according to the Coconuts news website.
Afterwards, they reportedly booked a ride-sharing car and took the grisly dismembered remain to a different flat that they rented using cash stolen from the victim.
Police said robbery was the motive, as the couple thought he was rich due to his job as a human resource development manager at a construction company.
After the killing, the pair drained his bank account of about £5,000 and used the cash to buy a motorcycle, gold, precious metals, and to rent an apartment, the police chief added.
The couple are accused of planning to bury the victim’s remains.
His family reported him missing three days later, on September 12.
Detectives traced his movements which led them to the couple’s new home, where his mutilated remains were found last Wednesday.
Police said the male suspect resisted arrest and was shot in both legs.
The couple have now been charged with premeditated murder and theft.
