‘Don’t ask for a threesome!’ Women reveal the things men should NEVER say in their online dating profile (and why emojis are a BIG turn-off)

Navigating the world of dating is scary for any singleton but online dating, where you can’t even be sure what your match looks like, can be fraught with even more difficulty.

Exasperated women on Reddit have been sharing their pet peeves about men’s dating profiles, revealing the clangers that are an instant deal breaker – and guaranteed to make them swipe left.

The biggest pet peeve of all, it seemed, was men whose online bios implied they were too good for dating sites – despite using them to meet a partner.

‘Anything that insinuates you’re too good to be on [insert dating site here],’ one woman wrote, in answer to the question: ‘What are things men write on their dating profiles that are instant deal breakers?’

‘If you were really too good for Tinder, you wouldn’t be on Tinder,’ she added.

But at least some men make the effort – with many of the users pointing out that some people don’t even bother to fill in their profiles.

‘Leaving it blank is the worst,’ one said.

And it wasn’t just the women, with one man pointing out: ‘As a guy I found a lot of girls either leave their profile blank, fill it with only emojis or just have a tag line like “if you want to know about me just ask!”‘

Others were angry with people making spelling errors on the profiles or getting confused between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’.

‘Typos. You’re trying to show your best self. Use f****** spellcheck please,’ one user said.

Another agreed, saying: ‘Text talk or incorrect spelling.’

Some of the women didn’t like it when men were too sexual on their profiles.

They definitely weren’t happy when couples approached them for threesomes or if matches sent them explicit pictures.

Others had more traditional deal breakers, like smokers or people looking for open relationships.

Similarly, a lot of the users didn’t like men who were superficial.

‘Claiming to be looking for someone who isn’t shallow or superficial, then listing all the physical traits you have to have (e.g. no fatties, must have at least C cup breasts),’ one user said.

Some of the women didn’t like it when men were party animals or too vain.

‘Not necessarily written, but in regards to pictures: a) A lot of party pictures where the person looks constantly drunk is an instant no b) A lot of pictures of them training/showing of their muscles. NO,’ another user wrote.
