SINGLES will know that when swiping through Tinder there is one type of profile picture comes up time and time again during their search for love.
And now the app itself is urging users not to post this particular photo- even though it has nothing to do with nudity or even violence.
The company has called for people to stop posting pictures of thmesleves posing alongside heavily-drugged up tigers in their quest for love.
It comes after animal rights activists have long complained that the pictures frequently appear on Tinder.
There is even the Instagram account ‘Tigers Guys With Tigers’ dedicated to mocking people sharing screenshots of potential dates posing with the big cats.
And now the dating app’s co-founder Sean Rad has written a blog post, where he says the company will donate $10,000 (£7,660) to charity Project Cat, if people remove their tiger pictures.
He wrote: “It’s time for the tiger selfies to go.
“More often than not, these photos take advantage of beautiful creatures that have been torn from their natural environment. Wild animals deserve to live in the wild.
“We are looking to you, as part of our Tinder community, to make a change. Take down your tiger photos, and we will make it worth your while by donating $10,000 to Project Cat in honor of International Tiger Day.”
He even suggested that if people wanted to share that they cared about the environment, they could replace their tiger photo with one of them planting a tree or even volunteering at an animal shelter.

His plea comes after animal charity PETA sent Tinder an open letter alerting them to the trend.
It read: “While most of us are on Tinder to find a soulmate or a date, appearing on the app isn’t fun for everyone.
“What might, at first swipe, look like a harmless picture actually means that someone was caged, dominated, and tied down or drugged before their photo was taken and uploaded online
“If this happened to one of your users on a Tinder date, you’d block the profile of the person responsible immediately. Unfortunately, this is the reality for tigers, lions, and other big cats who are featured in an alarming number of Tinder profile photo.”
