TRUSSVILLE — A Florida man is facing charges after Flock Safety alerted Trussville Police to a stolen vehicle.

Eric Taylor, 40, of Pensacola, Fla., was arrested on Saturday, May 23, 2020, in the 5000 block of Pinnacle Square. Taylor was driving an Audi Q3 that a woman out of Florida reported stolen. The woman told police a man that she met on the dating app Tinder stole her vehicle after a date.

Trussville Police posted about the incident on Facebook.

“Rather than simply swiping left he decided to meet the young woman for a night out on the town before taking off in her vehicle,” the post said.

Taylor faces charges of receiving stolen property first degree and illegal possession of a credit/debit card. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $110,000.
