The German Foreign Ministry warns against Russian contacts on dating platforms such as tinder e bumble, warning that these could be “traps”. In a message on Instagram, the ministry urges people to pay attention, because “Russia is currently not the best destination for a first date with online flirting”. In Russia “the risk of arbitrary arrests is very high, even for German citizens”, we read in the text.

The Berlin Foreign Ministry highlights: “Be careful when meeting new people online who invite you to Russia.” In this country, in fact, small things could be enough for an arrest. Specifically, the ministry mentions “comments from years ago” on social media or even just the use of the word “war”. As underlined by the ministry led by Annalena Baerbock, “any criticism” of Russian President Vladimir Putin or the conflict he has waged against Ukraine “can lead to years of prison and this also applies to the Germans”.
