Sorry Alex Beresford fans, but the Good Morning Britain star is not on Tinder.

The 39-year-old announced his split from long-term girlfriend Natalia earlier this year, confirming it was a mutual decision.

One ‘fan’ took this opportunity to put his picture on the dating app, in a bid to catfish fans and trick them into finding love.

And, appearing on today’s instalment of the ITV series, he warned fans that he was not masquerading as 51-year-old ‘Trent’ on Tinder.

‘I was reading somewhere that you’re out on Tinder looking for love,’ co-host Kate Garraway queried, as ‘his’ profile flashed up on screens.

Alex quickly poured cold water on the claims, as he began: ‘So someone has signed me up on Tinder, that’s obviously a picture of me.

‘This guy is called Trent and he’s 51. Apparently he’s looking for a fun, short-term relationship…’

When asked on how much success he had found on the app, he insisted: ‘Kate I’m not actually on Tinder, I can’t even check, some guy called Trent is meeting women!’

Putting a call out for ‘Trent’, Kate continued: ‘You’re very naughty to do that, that’s wrong. But can you get in touch and let us know how many people have taken the bait.

‘You can’t use Alex Beresford to go out and get dates.’

The star may not need the help of a dating app, as Amy Hart appeared to put herself in the queue for his affections.

In fact, Kate revealed the Love Island star branded him her ‘favourite, favourite crush’.

‘Apparently she followed me on Instagram a few days ago, and she’s upset that I didn’t follow her back, so maybe I’ll go on Instagram right now…,’ he replied.

Things took a slight turn when Kate dropped Alex in it, live on air, telling Amy he would be getting in touch.

‘Am I? I just said I was going to follow, I didn’t say I was going to slide in, Kate,’ he blushed. ‘I mean… slide into the DMs.’

A flustered Kate concluded: ‘Oh hello, it’s getting all exciting. I’m getting all hot and bothered, I don’t know where I am.

Honestly, same.

Alex confirmed his split from Natalia – who he shares son Cruz with – recently, explaining they decided to ‘walk away’ from the relationship.

‘As we kind of moved into the summer, myself and Natalia decided we were going to part ways, which, you know me – I’m not a quitter, and I hate quitting things,’ he said on the Britain Get Talking podcast.

‘We tried to work through things, but at some point you realise the best thing to do for everybody is walk away, but walking away is never easy.’

He also confessed they remained in the same house together for some time after they broke the romance off.

‘We were in the same house up until the beginning of this year, knowing that we were parting ways, it takes a while to figure things out. One thing I didn’t want to do is rush things,’ Alex added.

‘By being in that house, knowing we weren’t together, we started to get on better – it removed a lot of the stress and expectation that a relationship can bring.

‘It was so much to manage, we are only human and have feelings and emotions.’

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays, at 6am, on ITV.
