Don’t fall for scammers pretending to be me, says Finance Minister | #whatsapp | #lovescams | #phonescams

SHAH ALAM: Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz says he was shocked when he learnt that a woman had fallen for a scammer who pretended to be him.

The Finance Minister advised the public to be cautious and not to fall for love scams.

“Please check with authorities on anything suspicious and do not believe the sweet words of some stranger,” said Tengku Zafrul.

“If there is anyone who pretends to be the Finance Minister and promises love, please reject them immediately. My heart is taken and I do not have space for another,” he added in an Instagram post.

On Monday (Dec 13), a kindergarten teacher claimed to have lost RM4,200 earlier this month after meeting a man on Facebook who claimed he was a minister.

She said the suspect used the name “Tengku Zafrul” on Facebook and introduced himself as the “finance minister” and sent messages through WhatsApp.

The woman lodged a police report when she realised that she had been cheated.
