Emmerdale’s Charley Webb hits out at nasty skinny-shaming comments from trolls | #daitngscams | #lovescams

Charley Webb hit back at body-shaming comments after rude internet trolls began commenting on one of her recent Instagram posts.

The former Emmerdale star, who played the character Debbie Dingle until her departure in 2021, shared a video clip of herself and a friend dancing as they made the most of the Bank Holiday weekend.

Charley, 35, and her pal appeared to be enjoying themselves as they danced to Beyoncé’s hit song Drunk In Love, with the actress then sharing the clip to her Instagram page.

She wrote: “Bank holiday Beautiful Chaos. At my friends bbq celebrating another year of them with the same old moves.”

And while the soap star appeared to be enjoying herself, this didn’t stop internet trolls from commenting on her body, as one rude Instagram user commented: “Fab but frighteningly thin.”

Another added: “Looks like those legs could snap any minute.”

Charley’s fans were quick to leap to the star’s defence, with one commenting: “when are we gonna learn to stop commenting on each others bodies.”

“So.. posts a video having fun, she’s ‘too thin’; posts ads, too many ads; potentially puts weight on, must be pregnant; pics of kids, shouldn’t expose them; no pics, ‘where’ve you gone’!!

“Is it any wonder people feel they can do no right!” wrote another, to which Charley simply replied: “Innit [peace sign emoji].”

It comes just days after Charley enjoyed a girl’s weekend away with her former co-stars Emma Atkins, Zoe Henry, Charlotte Bellamy.

In a wholesome video shared to Instagram by Charley, the soap stars enjoyed walks with their dogs, a few glasses of wine, ate some delicious-looking food, and took in some beautiful scenery and fresh air.

The actress captioned the video: “Weekend in the Yorkshire Dales celebrating 20 years of friendship. Til the end of time”.

Charley has recently opened up to fans about her mum’s long-term health battle with Alzheimer’s.

On Mother’s Day, the star posted a sweet picture of herself with her mum from her wedding day, when she tied the knot with fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden in 2018, which she captioned: “In 2015, our lovely Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She was 64.”

She added: “8 years later we finally feel ready to talk about it and the goal is to raise as much money and awareness as possible, to be able to help everyone that may face this in the future.”

“This last 8 years have been a learning curve, a grieving process and something all of her children have struggled with. Every day is a challenge and brings difficulties which are really hard to come to terms with.”

The actress went on to say that even though her mum is still here, she misses her. Always my Queen, HM’sD, love you Mama.”
