When Calls the Heart fans, Erin Krakow‘s family is growing … but not in the way you may expect.
The Hallmark actress surprised her followers when she uploaded a photo of an adorable black and brown-colored puppy to Instagram. As it turns out, it was Erin’s way of announcing to the world that she got a pet with fellow When Calls the Heart co-star Ben Rosenbaum (who is also rumored to be her boyfriend).
“Meet Willoughby,” she wrote on January 15. “We adopted him a week ago and I already can’t imagine life without him. 😍 Thank you so much @tobiessmalldogrescue for bringing him into our lives (and for all the important rescue work you do) … Ok gotta go get some more cuddles now. 🐾💛.”
Erin wasn’t the only one excited. Just one day after she posted the news, Ben took to his own Instagram account and shared a photo of himself with the pup in his lap.
“Willoughby mine? 💘🐾 Thank you @tobiessmalldogrescue he’s a dream come true!” he wrote on January 16, with Erin simply replying, “🤗.”
As soon as Hallmark fans picked up on Erin’s personal announcement, it didn’t take long before they started sending congratulatory messages her way.

“He’s literally the cutest omg!!! I’m so happy for you!” one person wrote in the comments section. “Look at his face!! So cute!! 😍😍,” a different user replied. “Awwww. That sweet face!! 😍🐶 Willoughby is one lucky lil fur baby. He’s going to be so loved & bring you both such joy! 💕🐾 Congrats!” another fan added.
The reveal of Erin’s new pet comes just a few months after she received great news in her professional life. In June 2022, Hallmark green lit When Calls the Heart season 10, which recently wrapped filming. As for when new episodes will drop, that’s to be determined. But it looks like there will be a lot in store for our favorite characters in Hope Valley.
“Thank you @hallmarkchannel for continuing to be such champions of WCTH; we still have lots more stories to tell!” she wrote on Instagram in November 2022.
In the meantime, Erin and Ben will definitely stay busy taking care of Willoughby!
