Other warning signs, according to Resnick, include: If you are talking to someone for more than a week and the person can’t or won’t meet you in person, it’s time to move on. If you aren’t sure if the other person’s photo is real, run the image through Google Image Search or TinEye to see where else it might appear online. Scammers tend to reuse profiles. Copy and paste a couple of sentences from the other person’s profile into Google, and see if it pops up on other dating sites. And when in doubt, bring in a second pair of eyes. Ask a friend or family member to look over the other person’s profile, photos and messages. He or she might catch some red flags that slipped past you.
