Here’s what to know about one of the most popular hookup apps, and what to do if you’re a woman looking for a safe night out.

Grindr: gay, bi, trans, queer

According to the website OfLikeMinds, the Grindr dating app isn’t as friendly for lesbian hookups or dating as you would expect.

The service was started in 2009, and the app looks to create casual hookups by-area.

The app focuses on “gay, bi, trans, and queer” hookups, but not lesbians. According to OfLikeMinds, the website and app platform is mostly focused on men looking for dates.
