NORTH JERSEY, NJ — New York area fans of performing artist Taylor Swift — unable to get tickets to her popular “Eras Tour” and unwilling to shell out the $2,000 on StubHub — have been sharing ways to still see the show this weekend at MetLife Stadium in Bergen County, N.J.
Late on Wednesday night, the stadium posted a new message: “For the safety and enjoyment of all those who have tickets for these shows, we strongly encourage those without tickets not to come to MetLife Stadium on show days. Tickets corresponding to that evening’s concert are required to access the parking lots. Our parking lots will be at maximum capacity. Additional unauthorized crowds will create traffic and gridlock for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation.”
This may not stop Switfties from trying.
NJ Transit is running a special shuttle from the Secaucus Junction train station to MetLife for all three nights of the show.
NJ Transit said in a release, “Fans attending the upcoming Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran concerts at MetLife Stadium in May and June are encouraged to purchase their round trip tickets in advance through NJ TRANSIT’s mobile app. Customers can take any NJ TRANSIT train that stops at Secaucus, including from Penn Station New York, then transfer to the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line.”

“Customers traveling to MetLife Stadium should purchase their round trip tickets from their originating station to Meadowlands Station to avoid delays boarding trains. Tickets purchased on the train will include a $5 surcharge.”
Some fans are planning to take a bus to a nearby location, like American Dream Mall.
Don’t Fall For Scams
Meanwhile, parents around North Jersey have been seen on Facebook asking for tickets, and some internet users have offered tickets and parking passes to sell. Groups have also advertised tailgating (or “Taylor-gating”) parties and events.
However, the authorities (and local moms) warn that strangers are running scams to capitalize on the fandom.
“PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, stop falling for taylor swift ticket scams!” wrote a mom in a Bergen County group this week. “It’s been posted here enough. No one is selling their tickets if they have them, I’ll tell you that much. My mom friends are ready to sell a kidney for these tickets! Be careful people.”
Parking passes for MetLife can only be sold by MetLife.
And North Jersey residents have been scammed recently by others offering to sell tickets they don’t actually have to sell.
Earlier this month, according to Westfield Patch, someone told the police that he or she “paid $1,000 via Zelle to the suspects and received a screenshot of the alleged tickets they were purchasing. The remaining balance of $400 was to be paid separately. Before making the final payment for the tickets, the victim realized that the transaction was not legitimate and no further funds were paid.”

Fans have said that tickets are often released moments before Swift goes on stage. So hopeful fans can try to head to the stadium, have their phone ready to buy, and hope to get lucky during a ticket drop.
