When, in 2019, George Farmer, 31-year-old former Brexiteer and scion of copper tycoon Lord (Michael) Farmer, married Candace Owens, a US-born, Trump-loving polemicist, they were described as a new conservative power couple.
For Farmer, it also opened up a new career path. He left behind the family hedge fund, Red Kite Capital, moved to America and last year took the helm of Parler, the far-right social media platform that was shut down in the wake of the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol.
One year on from that defining event, Parler is resurrected and Farmer has raised $20 million (£15 million) from mostly anonymous donors. His goal:
