The internet has been buzzing for days over rumors that Selena Gomez is dating Chainsmokers member Andrew “Drew” Taggart, and it looks like we finally know the truth.
On January 15, Gomez and Taggart were spotted at NYC bowling alley The Gutter, where an eyewitness told Page Six that the pair were “making out.” While a source told People that she and Taggart were part of “a group,” another source told Us Weekly that there might be more to their relationship.
“They aren’t trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members-only clubs,” the source said, adding that they are “very casual and low-key” and like to “go bowling and to the movies.”
Before the rumor mill could really do its thing, Selena Gomez reportedly shut things down in a since deleted Instagram story, which a fan shared on Twitter on January 19. “I like being alone too much,” she allegedly wrote over a black-and-white landscape shot, adding, “#iamsingle.”
It’s unclear what prompted Gomez to delete her post, but it appears her mindset has changed significantly since her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in May 2022, when the “Lose You to Love Me” singer told audience members that she was using the gig as a chance to find love. “One reason I’m really excited to host SNL is because I’m single,” she said in her opening monologue. “And I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance.”
She continued, “Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love. I would like to say that I’m looking for my soul mate, but at this point, I will take anyone.”
Clearly, she found what she was looking for within herself. You love to see it.
