Mill Creek MetroParks obviously has too much money or too many employees or something. They cannot accept “no” and constantly find ways to fight courts trying to run the Schlegel family out of money! No wonder we don’t want big government. Use an alternate route! Understand the burden of proof is not on property owners. MetroParks should let it go; they have lost support and any chance for future improvements. A thief is a thief, no matter the cloak.

Is it possible issues that plagued Girard and that area for years are resulting from the shutdown years ago of the power generator plant in Niles? Seems like they have issues routing power into the Girard area from outside based upon the “switching” issues they mention often.

I heard Donald Trump very clearly state not to sell your home in Youngstown; mills would come back — without connection to building the wall. Remember, Americans were not concerned with building any wall; Trump was going to have Mexico pay for it. Once elected, complete with a Republican-controlled Senate and Congress, Trump not only ignored his promise about the mills, he also did nothing to keep GM-Lordstown from leaving. This Republican is finished with the Republican Party.

Amazing how many of the same people who railed that masks infringed upon their freedom during the pandemic, now freely mask their faces and wear their fear-tactic tactical gear to intimidate and deny people the right to vote. Patriots cast votes, not block them.

What’s wrong with this country? A political family is attacked, and opposing party leadership doesn’t condemn the attack. Instead, party members make jokes and say the attack was staged. Our political discourse is supposed to be civil, respectful, collaborative and honest — not hateful and vindictive. Is this what the future of America looks like?

Inflation is global. Joe Biden is not the global president. Spaghetti in Italy is way up because of tomato fertilizer costs. European gas is $13 per gallon. Company profits are up 52 percent from price gouging. Cause? COVID-19, product and worker shortages and transportation! These are short term. Democracy, Medicare, Social Security are long term. Vote for long term.

Smoke and taxes won’t work here anymore. Biden shut down oil leases and curtailed drilling as well as investments and jobs in refineries. Why should oil producers invest in an industry he wrongly tries to kill? He has given away reserves without replacement and endangers national security. We always need oil for ups and downs of weather and security. Enough batteries cannot be stored to meet demands. Ask California or Ukraine! We need forward-looking common sense, not greed.

Complacent average people allow big business, money, lobbyists to control our government, which leads to minority ruling the majority. The Electoral College is outdated. A balanced budget? Should we tax all religions? How about “term limits?” The “filibuster”
tactics should be eliminated. Is a Constitutional Convention in order? But then again, who would be invited?
