Love Island 2021’s location ‘REVEALED’ | Entertainment | #tinder | #pof

After ITV confirmed that Love Island will FINALLY be returning to our screens later this year, there’s been much speculation about whether the ITV2 dating show will follow in the footsteps of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and take place in the UK for the first time ever amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

It was feared that Love Island may not be able to return to its usual home of Majorca due to travel restrictions, with bosses said to be considering Jersey as a new location.

But, according to new reports, producers have received the green light to return to the Spanish isle and are going to extreme lengths to ensure that the show goes ahead as normal – even recruiting a back-up cast.

A TV insider revealed, “Producers have watched shows like Dancing on Ice struggle during the pandemic. They don’t want the same fate.

“All precautions have been taken to make sure it goes smoothly. Besides the extra cast, they’ve incorporated Covid safety measures and increased checks on contestants’ mental health.”

They told The Sun, “Everyone is very excited. Restrictions are easing, the Euros football is on and Love Island is back in Majorca. What more could you want?”

They made their romance official within the Love Island villa, and 2020 winners Paige and Finn are still going strong back in the UK!

According to the publication, this year’s Islanders have been told they will need to spend up to ten weeks abroad and will fly out in May to quarantine before filming begins in June.

Wannabe contestants will undergo a psychological and physical assessment, a sexual health screening and an unannounced drugs test before they’re able to enter the villa.

It’s thought work has already started on the famous villa, which will apparently boast a giant hot tub and infinity pool.

This all comes after it was announced singletons can now apply for Love Island on Tinder.

If you want to apply for the show on the dating app, all you have to do is swipe right when an ad for the show appears. Your profile will then be submitted to the Tinder team for review.

If your profile catches the eye of Tinder bigwigs, you’ll then be added to a priority list which means you’re guaranteed to be seen by the Love Island casting team.

Speaking about the exciting partnership with Tinder, Simon Daglish, ITV Deputy Managing Director, Commercial, said, “We love when brands like Tinder couple up with our programmes and it’s a perfect partner for the hugely anticipated return of Love Island this summer.

“This is the first time we’ve worked with a dating app in this way and I’m sure Tinder members will be excited to get involved with the show.”
