Love Island star has awkward virtual date on Celebs Go Dating | #facebookdating | #tinder | #pof

Celebs Go Dating returned with a massively different format tonight (July 27) as the stars were forced to carry out their romantic exploits via webcam.

Renamed Celebs Go Virtual Dating, and with social distancing guidelines being followed, the series has now reduced its episodes to just 30 minutes, but that’s still long enough for the stars to embarrass themselves in the pursuit of love.

Perhaps the most painfully awkward segment of tonight’s instalment came from Love Island‘s Shaughna Phillips, who was on the receiving end of a terrible innuendo.

During her date with a chap named Lyeon, things soon took a disastrous turn when he revealed he was a bus driver.

“Are ya?” she enthusiastically asked. “So what’s your route? Tell me your route!”

Lyeon then replied: “I’ll give you my route if you promise to jump on for a ride.”

Shaughna immediately burst out laughing at the chat-up line before moving her face out of the camera to hide her intense cringing.

“Nah, nah, nah. Not like that,” said Lyeon, insisting it wasn’t meant to be a filthy bus-related innuendo.

“Alright, we’ll keep it contactless for now,” shot back Shaughna.

Also during their disastrous date, Shaughna briefly opened up about her time on Love Island and how she was dropped by Callum Jones after having his head turned by Molly Smith in Casa Amor.

After sharing her story, Lyeon abruptly replied: “What did you do wrong? He brought another girl back.”

Suffice to say, Shaughna and Lyeon won’t be going on another date.

Celebs Go Virtual Dating airs on E4. Love Island will return next summer on ITV2, and you can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
