Man books mystery holiday with online date he has never met | #tinder | #pof

A brave user of a dating site has booked a holiday to a mystery destination with a girl he has never actually met.

Ben Windle was matched to a woman on internet dating site Bumble and has now booked a holiday for the two without ever actually meeting.

The couple will not only be meeting for the first time at the airport but they also do not know where they will be going after booking two slots on a mystery holiday package.

The whirlwind romance has caused a sensation on Twitter when Ben’s friend and beauty blogger Soph shared the bizarre coupling.

She says: “one of my friends got talking to a girl on bumble, made a joke about driving past Gatwick Airport & going on a spontaneous holiday, the joke became real.. and he has now booked a £99 Wowcher holiday for the two of them, but they have never met.”

The screenshots show Ben joking with his match that he was ready to meet at Gatwick and book an impromptu holiday. He says “I’m the kind of person who will book a flight somewhere with a random person on Tinder”.

His date says she’s game and Ben booked the tickets. After a nervous wait of 24 hours his date confirmed she will be attending and the two are set to jet off to a mystery destination that could include trips to Prague, Rome, Barcelona and other destinations.

The date is set for the 23 October and Soph believes her friend will go through with the deal.

Friend Soph is not surprised by Ben’s plans after her Tweet went viral

She says: “I 100% think he will go through with it, he’s done crazier things in the past! When he told us the story we were like “wow, this is the most you thing ever”. So far his date seems to be up for it, but I really hope she follows through, I’m rooting for them, and I want to see the holiday photos!”

Since sharing the screenshots the story has been retweeted over 5,000 times with hundreds of comments from people rooting for the couple.

On the viral success of the story, she says: “I knew the story was too good to not share on Twitter, I thought my followers might find it funny, but I never expected it to get the attention it has got. It’s pretty amazing but people are now just as invested as me in the story. I will definitely be updating on the 23rd, as will Ben!”

You can see if the couple jet off to the sunset by following Ben on Twitter, or @soph on Instagram and @sophdoesnails and @sophdoesnails on YouTube.

The Wowcher mystery holiday deal made headlines in the summer when it was launched, promising a trip to an unknown destination for just £99. Longer haul trips to the likes of New York, Bali, Dubai, Las Vegas and Thailand.

Anybody who books a holiday will go into the draw to decide destinations on October 23.
