A Dauphin County man was arrested and charged after police say he raped an Adams County woman who he met on a dating app.
Eduardo Antonio Venegas Del Muro, 22, was located and taken to Cumberland County Prison on Sept. 19 on charges including rape, aggravated assault and kidnapping, according to a Pennsylvania State Police news release.
He also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, which is a request to hold him longer if he is granted release to determine if he should be taken into federal custody for possible deportation.
At 1:45 a.m. Sept. 16, police were dispatched to a York Springs home after the victim’s father reported that his 22-year-old daughter went on a date from Tinder and did not return home, according to an affidavit filed with District Judge Tony Little.
The father told police that she was also not answering her phone.
Police began to canvass the area, when a passerby found the woman walking along the road and took her back to her home.

When police spoke with the woman, she said she met Venegas Del Muro on Tinder and they had been talking for more than a week. She said he picked her up for a date at about midnight Sept. 17, the affidavit states.
The woman said she was giving him directions to Hanover, but he stopped at a parking lot in the 4800 block of Carlisle Pike and got out of his vehicle. She told police she also got out of the vehicle and he began to hug and touch her.
She said she pushed him away and told him she was not comfortable and asked him to take her home. At that point she said she texted a friend to follow her location on Snapchat.
Venegas Del Muro and the woman got back into the vehicle and he started to drive back toward York Springs. She said he was complaining that he drove all the way from Harrisburg to see her and she wanted to go home.
The woman was giving him directions back to her home, but he ignored her. She said he pulled off onto a road and they both got out of the vehicle.
Venegas Del Muro knocked the woman’s phone out of her hand and began to choke her, police said. She said she felt like she was loosing consciousness and he was trying to remove her pants and sexually assault her, according to the affidavit.
She told police he then raped her and ran to his vehicle and left the woman on the road.
Police received a search warrant for Venegas Del Muro’s Tinder account, which provided them with his contact information and found that the phone number was associated to a Stephanie Venegas.
They found Venegas’ Facebook profile, which said she was married to Venegas Del Muro.
On Sept. 19, police spoke with Venegas, who said she allows Venegas Del Muro to use her vehicle, which matched the victim’s description. She also said that he disappears all hours of the night, but is unsure of where he goes, the affidavit states.
Venegas Del Muro was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, strangulation, criminal use of a communication facility, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, indecent assault and indecent exposure, according to online court documents.
He is currently in Cumberland County Prison awaiting a preliminary hearing and his attorney information is not yet listed.
