The Chase star Mark Labbett has reportedly signed up for the next series of Celebs Go Dating following his split from wife Katie.

Earlier this year, the 55-year-old explained that lockdown and the 27-year age gap contributed to the marriage breakdown.

Although, the quizzer, also known as The Beast, is now reportedly looking for love again and is hoping dating coaches Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson can help.

‘Mark has been very open about the fact he’s not especially romantic,’ a source began.

‘Flirting doesn’t come easily to him but he’s open to finding love again.’

‘He’s a big lovable giant with a heart of gold but his dating adventures will be something to behold,’ they added to The Sun.

Katie and Mark are second cousins, but met through Facebook in 2010, before getting together in 2012, before getting engaged a year later.

The couple, who share a three-year-old son, had split last year before getting back together for the sake of their family.

Katie, who works as a nurse, has been dating design engineer Scott Bate, 30, for around 18 months while the pair had an open marriage.

However, Mark explained that despite trying to be ‘pragmatic’ about the situation, the coronavirus pandemic put a strain on their situation.

He explained at the time: ‘We had a family. We couldn’t just throw that away lightly. There were other considerations.

‘But Covid provided the perfect storm. My mental health suffered and the differences in our ages became magnified.’

‘With Katie seeing Scott after lockdown, it’s got to the point where I realise it’s better for us to go our separate ways and remain friendly, without the stress factor of living together,’ he added to The Sun.
