The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a domestic violence case.

George “Felix” Ortega, 41, is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in Hillrose.

According to a Facebook post by the MCSO on Friday, Ortega already had three active warrants for his arrest when he was involved in a domestic violence incident on Oct. 1. The first warrant was also for domestic violence, dating back to April, when he was chaged with harassing communication. The second warrant is for an auto theft case from August. The third warrant is for a traffic case from September.

The MCSO said Ortega will have a new warrant in connection with the Oct. 1 incident, with charges of felony assault and sexual assault (domestic violence-related).

“Mr. Ortega needs to be off the streets so that he can’t hurt anyone else,” the MCSO post stated.

Anyone with information on Ortega’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 970-867-2461, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
