If you think you’ve seen every dating show going and nothing phases you, you need to watch Love is Blind and, trust me, your mind will be blown!
Taking Blind Date to a whole new, and quite frankly insane level, the show launched on Netflix last week and within hours of the first lot of episodes being made available to stream, prompted quite a reaction on social media.
Like Dating in the Dark and Married At First Sight’s demanding love child, Love is Blind is hosted by Vanessa and Nick Lachey, yes THAT Nick Lachey – the one who was once married to Jessica Simpson and starred in Newlyweds!
The official synopsis for the show on the Netflix website reads: “Nick and Vanessa Lachey host this social experiment where single men and women look for love and get engaged, all before meeting in person.”
And, while that short and snappy description gives you the gist of Love is Blind, it is only the tip of the iceberg as you will need ALL the popcorn you can get your hands on to watch it, if you can manage to pick your jaw up off the floor that is!
If you’ve finished both The Stranger and Safe and are looking for something a bit more light-hearted but just as gripping, your new binge watch has landed!
Love is Blind sees couples date each other in pods, both sat on either sides of a wall so they have no clue what the person they’re talking to looks like. The end game is marriage, the big difference to most marriages being, that Love is Blind nuptials occur at a much more speedy rate!
This is a spoiler free zone but to give a few hints of what to expect – one couple say ‘I love you’ after just three conversations in a pod and are engaged after five days!
Keep an eye out for the show’s resident ‘player’ Barnett, who has a few different girls after him; one jeopardises everything she has with another guy for him!
Once they are all engaged, the couples are whisked away on holiday to Mexico and that is where the fun and games really start and is also where the latest batch of episodes, released to Netflix on Thursday, February 20 pick up from.
There are now nine available to watch and with episodes like Moving in Together and Meet the Parents – it’s clear to see that things are moving at a VERY rapid pace!
The only episode not yet available is episode 10 – The Weddings – where all the couples need to decide if they will say ‘I do’. That will be available on Thursday, February 27.
