Delivered. Whooo! That’s all you can do when a gold cardboard box with “Mamó” emblazoned across the front lands on your porch: whoop like an overstimulated cheerleader. It must have been the cabin fever, because the man who delivered it flashed me a knowing grin, as if this had happened before. A passing neighbour offered a more eye-rolling verdict.

Inside the box of gold was nettle and bacon terrine with mustard sauce; the nettles were from Howth and the piggy was supplied by Higgins Family Butchers, in Sutton.
