BLIND DATE: ‘SHE TALKED ABOUT HER DOG A LOT’
The actor has been dating Essendon ruckman Tom Bellchambers since early this year, and when asked how they met, she confessed it was using a dating app that’s reserved for the rich, famous, or socially influential.
“I can’t believe no one has asked me this question in any interview, ever. Do I lie?” she pondered.
“We met on a dating app… it’s this app for people that are, like, in the public eye, called Raya.”
The app describes itself as an “exclusive platform for people in creative industries” and has a long and arduous process to approve potential users.
People interested in joining have to fill out an application, which is run through an algorithm and assessed by a committee of people “spread throughout the world”.
It could take days, weeks or months to be approved as the committee considers a host of areas including an applicant’s social media following.
According to Nylon, you basically have to have a cool or creative occupation, a significant Instagram following, have other friends on Raya who can recommend you, and be hot.
Once you’re in it costs $7.99 USD (about $11.60 AUD) per month.
Valance told Fitzy and Wippa she was shocked by some of the high-profile people she came across.
“Oh my God, so many people … there were some really big stars,” she said, while refusing to name names.
