Louise Redknapp has opened up on the difficulties of online dating, admitting she was ghosted over her plans for a bike ride.
The singer and TV star split with footballer husband Jamie Redknapp after 18 years of marriage in 2017, but while he has moved on with Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie, Louise says things have been much slower on the dating front for her.
Louise, 46, shared an extract from her new book You’ve Got This and Other Things I Wish I’d Known with The Sun, where she talked about the odd dealbreaker for one potential new partner.
She said: “I had what I thought was a good chat with a guy, and then one day he asked me what I was up to. I said, ‘Oh, I’m just going for a bike ride’. And that was the end of that. It’s been five months and no reply.
“I’m just sitting here wondering what was it that I said? Are bike rides that unattractive?”
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant also said she’d found herself in the unusual position of getting dating advice from eldest son Charley, 16.
Talking about Charley warning her off one man who had asked her to continue their conversation on Snapchat, she said: “Apparently, the only reason you want to Snapchat is if you’ve already got a partner or you just want to share explicit photos.”
Louise and ex-husband Jamie have two sons together – Charley, and 12-year-old Beau.
She recently told the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine that she had been so rattled by the breakdown of her marriage that she had even briefly considered stepping in front of a bus.

She said: “I would be standing in Central London, watching the buses whizz past and I would wonder whether it would be easier for a bus to take me out.
“All it would take was for me to step out at the wrong moment and it would all be over.”
