She found overnight fame as the blonde bombshell who stormed into the Love Island villa during season 4.

But, Megan Barton-Hanson, 26, has revealed that show producers DIDN’T cast her when she insisted on dating ‘girls and guys,’ and so applied the following year as a ‘straight’ woman, and was subsequently signed up.

The former stripper admitted: ‘I thought, if I go in straight it’d be easier,’ and only publicly came out as bisexual after breaking up with Wes Nelson whom she met on Love Island, despite having been attracted to women ‘from a young age.’

No way! Megan Barton-Hanson, 26, has revealed that Love Island DIDN’T cast her when she insisted on dating ‘girls and guys,’ and so applied the following year as a ‘straight’ woman

In a new interview, Megan has discussed her bisexuality, and how she initially wanted to explore her attraction to both men and women on Love Island.

She told Metro: ‘I was kind of seeing this girl, and I got approached to go on Love Island the year before I went on. And I was like “but I wanna date girls and guys”.

‘They said they’d get in touch but nothing really happened. The following year, I thought, maybe if I go in straight, it would be easier, and that’s obviously the year I went on.’

Explaining her decision to ‘go in straight,’ Megan admitted she was ‘slightly worried’ about public reaction to her being openly bisexual, but that her family had always been aware of her sexuality.
