CHENNAI: With the pandemic raging across the country, online dating has been the only option for millennials looking for love. But is sitting at home browsing dating apps as exciting as meeting up with someone in person? To figure out how they regard online dating, dating app QuackQuack, conducted a survey among millennials in major metros. And the results may be a revelation for many.
For one, 81% of men were fine with dating someone older than them. But 50% women said they don’t mind being in a relationship with someone younger. And the remaining 50% would never date someone who is not mature at their level!
Also, men don’t mind making the first move, but ladies do — 88% men don’t mind making the first move, while 77% of women expect the guy to text them first. But surprisingly, there are still 12% women who don’t mind making the first move and breaking the ice.
Also, 56% of men said they are okay if their date comes along with a friend. But 77% women were pretty clear about not being okay if their date is accompanied by a friend. Guess men will be men!
However, for a majority of millennials, a profile without a photo is a major turnoff. For 45% men, a profile without a photo is a ‘big no’, while 27% women dislike a profile if the common interests don’t match. On the other hand, 13% men would dislike a user profile for “bad” looks and 13% women would show no interest if the bio/about section of the guy is incomplete.
While a major turnoff for both genders is a profile without a photo, women still give higher preference to common interests than men.
