An air hostess was allegedly raped by a man she met via online dating application Tinder in Pune.
The accused, identified as 26-year-old Abhijit Wagh, has been arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad police, according to a report by The Indian Express.
Abhijit, the accused, had met the woman at a hotel in Pune’s Hinjewadi on December 26 and allegedly forced her to drink alcohol. He then took her to his house and allegedly raped her there, the police said, according to the report.
The victim, in her complaint, said the accused at first tried to get too close to her without her consent. After she refused to entertain him, he allegedly hit her. He kicked her several many and beat her up with his shoes too and forced himself upon her.
The incident took place between 4 pm and 11.30 pm on December 26 according to the FIR.
Police said the accused was produced before court and he has been remanded police custody till January 2 for further investigation.
Police said the probe revealed that the woman “got to know the accused through an online dating application” on December 25.
