Monty Python star Carol Cleveland has started online dating aged 77…. and says she’s looking for a man just like Sir Michael Palin.
Carol, who appeared in 35 of the 45 episodes of the classic television series that ran from 1969 until 1974, and all five of their movies, lives in West Sussex with her dog Tallulah.
“Tallulah is lovely company but I’d very much like have a man in my life,” she admits.
“I’m now on an online dating site, so I am out there searching. I do get quite a lot of interest, but so far no-one has ticked the boxes.
“My ideal man would be Michael Palin, but he’s never been available,” sighs Carole. “I do think Michael is such a lovely, near-perfect man.
“I’d like someone who’s charming, witty, bright and good fun to be with. Someone who’s maybe a few years younger than me, nicely turned out, has a good sense of humour, is interested in the arts, and ideally is a fan of mine.”
Sounds remarkably like 76-year-old Michael… Though he remains unavailable, happily wed to wife Helen since 1966.
Carol will be interviewed on Radio 4 about the 50th anniversary of Monty Pyton on Saturday and appeared at the NFI’s month of Python.
