They work long days, rarely have weekends off and are not known for their fitness. Who would date a City lawyer?

It is a conundrum that one former Square Mile solicitor is tackling head on with the launch of a dating app that targets lawyers looking for love.

Released a week ago, the team behind Lawyr claim it has already been inundated with legal professionals who struggle to find romantic partners as they are obliged to slave for 15-hour days to meet billing targets.

Founded by Matthew Rhodes — who practised at the City law firm Ashurst — the app has one basic rule: members must either work in the legal profession or want to meet someone who does.
