Pampa Man Indicted for Mail/Wire Fraud in Fraudulent Romance Scheme

A federal grand jury has indicted Thomas Daniel Short for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud.

Court documents allege Short and his Nigerian co-conspirators would scam people through fraudulent romantic schemes through Facebook.

The indictment reveals that Short received two checks with a combined total of $120,000 through the mail in Pampa and two wire transfers totaling $920 from two victims.

Short faces up to 20 years in prison and/or fine up to $250,000.
