DeKALB – The Family Service Agency of DeKalb County’s Children’s Advocacy Center was awarded a grant from Domestic Trafficking Victims Funds for the expansion of services in DeKalb County to victims of child sex trafficking and child pornography.

Awarded funds will be used for training members of the multidisciplinary team, State’s Attorney’s Office, Law Enforcement, Department of Children and Family Services, Medical Team, Forensic Interviewers, Trauma Team and Victim Advocates to expand services to victims of child sex trafficking and child pornography.

FSA’s CAC was one of only 31 Advocacy Centers in the nation to receive this grant, and just one of two in Illinois. The DTVF grant will allow CAC to provide valuable training to our MDT for the specialized response, interviewing, and investigation that is involved with children who have been trafficked and/or exploited. The CAC strives to continue building the program for the most vulnerable population in DeKalb County and is proud to work with such supportive partnering agencies.

Family Service Agency is a social service agency and has been providing model-practice services to people of all ages for more than 60 years. FSA exists to strengthen individuals and communities. This is accomplished through five distinct programs – Center for Counseling, Children’s Advocacy Center, Community Action Program, Senior Services, and Youth Mentoring.

A host of services are available through these programs, please visit www.fsadekalbcounty.org or call 815-758-8616 for more information. FSA is a United Way Agency, part of the Community Action Partnership, and accredited by Council on Accreditation.
