The Criminal Investigation Department of Police on Monday arrested five on charges of sex trafficking to India and other countries.
The arrested were Md Shaheen, Md Rafiqul Islam, Biplob Ghosh, Aktarul, and Md Bablu.
Sheikh Rezaul Haider, additional deputy inspector general, briefed the media on Monday at the CID Headquarters.
The CID also arrested four persons involved in the racket on August 25. The racket had trafficked at least 20 women and juveniles to India’s Rajkot, said the Addl DIG.
