Sixty-five people attended the recent “Age of Love” screening at the Humboldt County Library in Eureka. The screening was a collaboration of the library, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Humboldt State University and Humboldt Senior Resource Center. “The Age of Love” follows the adventures of seniors who attend a speed dating event for 70 to 90 year olds. The screening was followed by a discussion about lifestyles, vulnerabilities and the need for sharing concerns and joys, said Cheryl Johnson, who helped bring the documentary to Humboldt County. At the event, 16 seniors also signed up for a speed dating event for adults 70 and older to be held Oct. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Humboldt Senior Resource Center, 1910 California St., in Eureka. To sign-up for speed dating, call 707-839-1745. The registration deadline is Saturday, Sept. 28. Space is limited.
