Tinder and Plenty of Fish rape accused has sex charges dropped | #tinder | #pof

A Derbyshire man accused of raping two women he met on dating websites Tinder and Plenty of Fish has had both sex charges against him dropped.

Daniel Hibberts had been charged with raping a woman in Chesterfield on July 17 and a second charge of raping a woman in Buxton between 2016 and 2019.

But this week, prosecutor Sarah Knight told Derby Crown Court that, after review, both have now been discontinued.

However, the 41-year-old, of Williamson Avenue, Buxton, has been charged with a non-sexual offence of possessing a Taser at his home address on July 20, of this year.

The hearing was told that a decision on that charge will be made in due course.

Judge Shaun Smith QC remanded the defendant into custody until October 19, when that matter will be discussed.
