Tinder Ban for Emirates Team New Zealand – Live Sail Die | #tinder | #pof

In light of the recent COVID-19 scare in Auckland, New Zealand, the Emirates Team New Zealand heath managers have advised that all sailors, shore crew and even those who are desk bound, to steer clear of supermarkets, department and hardware stores.

Emirates Team New Zealand has a ban on dating apps such as Tinder.

Keeping the team safe

A recent cluster of COVID-19, which was found on Valentines Day, also sparked the continued ban on the use of dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, Hinge and Grindr.

While the dating app ban has been in force for some time, the addition of supermarkets, department and hardware stores have recently been added to the list of restricted activities.

Mowing the lawns is an approved activity

“At least the team members can get out of doing mundane tasks such as grocery shopping and DIY (do it yourself) until after the Cup, but we still allow chores such as mowing the lawns,” said an insider close to the team who wished to remain anonymous.

Learning to live and sail with the virus

COVID-19 continues to play a major part in every day life here in New Zealand, and those who are taking part in the event, either as a sailor, shore crew, race management or spectator, are encouraged to partake in safe hygiene practices, including washing hands and wearing a face covering on public transport.

“The health of the team is a priority, and so is winning the Auld Mug, and we can’t have a first date ruin years of preparation,” said the insider.

Emirates Team New Zealand will leave nothing on the table

The local favourites have been out on the water practicing their (sailing) moves ahead of the 36th America’s Cup Match which will see them line up against the challengers Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team from the 6th March.

The teams have been keeping a close eye on each other since launching their second generation AC75s which each aiming to get the upper hand over their opponent.

“The competition is about to heat up, we a’int seen nothing yet!”
