Tinder, the wildly popular dating app, is down.
Reports of problems have spiked on Down Detector in the last hour, with the main issues being with server connection, logging in and sending or receiving messages.
The glitches are mainly affecting users in the UK and Europe, with some reports of problems in the US as well.
It’s a disaster for singletons who were keen to make a connection as lockdown restrictions lift across the globe. Many are devastated at having made romantic connections through the app that could now potentially be lost.
“Not to sound desperate but Tinder is down and I have nothing to do,” one lovelorn user confessed on Twitter.
Others have confirmed that the app is not working on their phones, with many reporting error codes when they try to log in.
“Tinder is down and i was about to text this guy,” one said, adding a crying emoji to really drive home the tragedy.
“Legit thought Tinder deleted my profile right when i had just started talking with someone actually interesting but nope the app is apparently just down nice,” another said.
“Sly that Tinder is down, how am I supposed to talk to my 20 boyfriends,” one woman joked.
“So you’re telling me the ONE time I’m vibing with someone on Tinder, the app wanna shut down,” another posted.
“I am LIVIDDDDDD.”
Down Detector commenters have shed more light on the issue, with one woman saying she had lost all her matches and messages.
Users in Doncaster and Worcestershire say the app is not letting them log in.
“Someone superliked me just almost near 24 hours ago, I now message and then an hour later the superlike is gone and also a match has disappeared wtf is going on?” one frustrated user commented.
However one commenter has suggested all Tinder users “just go old-school” now that the app appears not to be working.
